England is a country belonging to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, bordered by Wales to the west and Scotland to the north. London is the capital and the largest metropolitan area in the United Kingdom, as well as in the European Union before Brexit, after which the United Kingdom no longer belongs to the EU. It is home to more than 56 million people, 84% of the UK’s total population, most of whom live in and around London. The country’s terrain is mainly plains and low hills, although there are mountainous environments and landscapes in the north. England is home to one of the seven wonders of the world, Stonehenge, which you can visit in Wilshire for a unique experience of this historic work of mankind. Other places of interest include Buckingham Palace in London, which has been home to the British Royal Family since 1837, as well as the Tower of London which has served as an armoury, treasury, menagerie, Royal Mint, public records office and home to the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom.
